Billing and usage

CineFlow plans are Free, Solo, Team, Pro, Ultra, and Enterprise. Manage your subscription in Settings then Plan and Billing; track consumption in Settings then Usage.

These limits are enforced by CineFlow today. This table is the only place in this documentation that states them; every other page links here rather than repeating a number.

Project collaborators and team members are two different allowances

Section titled “Project collaborators and team members are two different allowances”

They are counted separately, they have separate limits, and each one is an account-wide pool, not a per-project or per-workspace allowance.

  • Project collaborators are the people you invite to individual projects. The pool counts distinct people across every project on your account, so the same person on three of your projects takes one place, not three. Someone who is an active collaborator on one project and an unaccepted email invite on another also counts once. A live pending invite takes a place too. Accepting it does not free that place: the same person simply moves from pending to active and goes on holding it. Letting the invite expire, or revoking it, frees a place only if that person has no other active or pending relationship left on your account, because the pool counts people rather than relationships.
  • Team members are the people in your organisation workspaces. The pool counts distinct people across all of your organisation workspaces, so a person who belongs to several of them takes one place. Personal workspaces have no members and never consume a place.
  • You never consume a place in either pool. The account owner is excluded from both counts.

Add-ons raise these caps: each Additional project collaborator adds one place to the collaborator pool, each Additional team member adds one to the team member pool, and each Additional workspace adds one organisation workspace.

Other notes:

  • Projects count non-archived projects across your account. Archiving a project frees the slot.
  • Archiving a project also removes its collaborators. That frees a place in the collaborator pool only for someone who is not on another of your projects, because the pool counts distinct people. Archiving does not revoke pending invites: an unaccepted invite on an archived project keeps its place until it expires or you revoke it from Settings then Collaborators.
  • The PDF quota belongs to the project owner: exports of a project count against the owner’s plan, whoever runs them. Client-side exports (slides, Word, JSON, Fountain, FDX, Outline) never count.
  • Storage is shown on the Usage tab per plan. It does not block uploads generally, only where a specific upload checks it (for example project covers and script file imports).
  • The plan-gated AI actions require a paid plan. There are three: brief import, AI Smart Import, and converting script markup into shots. All three are unavailable on Free and available on every paid plan, and none has a usage meter: the check is your plan, not a quota. Two things that are NOT gated and work on every plan, including Free: the in-app help Assistant, and the Gear page’s catalog matching.
  • Brief import also counts against your project limit, because it creates a project.

When you hit a limit, an Upgrade required dialog names what you ran out of (for example “More projects requires a higher plan”) and offers the plan that clears it.

  • Current plan shows your plan, its status, and the renewal date, with a refresh button.
  • Plan cards with a Monthly / Yearly toggle; click Upgrade to go through checkout, or Manage plan to open the Stripe billing portal. Prices are shown on the page in USD.
  • In the Mac and Windows apps, Upgrade opens the payment page in your browser rather than inside the app, because that is where card payments are handled. When you are finished, that browser page says Payment complete and reopens CineFlow for you, on Plan and Billing with the new plan applied, or on the sign-up launchpad if you were still signing up. If your browser does not reopen the app by itself, press Open CineFlow on that page. Closing checkout without paying brings you back the same way, with nothing charged.
  • Add-ons: Additional team member (monthly, per person in your team workspaces), Additional workspace (monthly), Additional project collaborator (monthly, one more place in the collaborator pool shared across all your projects) and 100 additional PDF exports (one-time). Which of these are offered depends on the plan you are on.
  • Referral Program: generate a code to share. Your friend enters it in the Referral code field on this page before checkout, on the Monthly cycle, and gets 10% off their first month. For each friend who subscribes you get account credit worth 10% of your own plan price for 2 months, up to 10 months of credit in total. A friend who already has a larger discount, such as the student one, keeps it and you are still credited.
  • Billing: Open billing portal for payment methods, invoices, cancellation, and downgrades (all handled in the Stripe portal).
  • In the Mac and Windows apps, the billing portal also opens in your browser rather than inside the app, for the same reason checkout does. When you are finished in the portal, that browser page says All done and reopens CineFlow for you, on Plan and Billing. If your browser does not reopen the app by itself, press Open CineFlow on that page.

Accounts with a .edu.au email can verify student status for 20% off paid plans: click Verify student status, enter the 6 digit code from your student inbox, and Confirm. Verification lasts 12 months and can be renewed with Re-verify student status.

Shows live numbers against your plan: Projects, Standalone Documents, Project Collaborators (active plus pending invites, counted as distinct people across all your projects), Team Members (distinct people across your organisation workspaces, with a per-workspace breakdown; a person in several of your workspaces counts once), PDF Exports (this month) (including pack credits), and Storage in GB. Each card links to where you manage that resource.

When the monthly PDF quota is spent, exports stop with the PDF export limit reached dialog: buy a PDF Export Pack (100 additional exports, one-time) or upgrade. Pack credits are consumed after the monthly allowance and do not expire month to month.
